Reporter: Zhang Lixue News Flash March 23, 2024
[Taichung Community News Flash] How long has it been since you watched the sunset at the beach? The "Zero-Waste Island Easter Holiday" event, organized by the Transition Towns Association, will be held from March 30 to 31 at the Daan Port Matsu Cultural Park and Daan Beach. With the theme of "Island Green Sustainability," the event will feature a variety of activities, including parent-child fun, a music feast, handmade creative local markets, and more, inviting the public to enjoy a joyful Easter holiday together.
Chen Zhenping, Chairman of the Transition Towns Association, stated that in recent years, islands have faced challenges such as environmental pollution and climate change. Balancing economic development and environmental protection is a crucial issue for the sustainable development of islands. This forum will feature industry mentor Luke Wen and several entrepreneurs, who will share how to utilize local resources and develop sustainable business models. The aim is to spark inspiration and encourage more people to engage in local entrepreneurship. Additionally, there will be the "Little Bird Treasure Market" on-site, offering local delicacies, handmade creative products, Dajia High School's arts and industry collaboration, and family-friendly activities. The event is suitable for all ages to join in the fun and contribute to the sustainable development of islands.
